We are taking Interims this week. We should have the results scored and returned to students by next Monday. We are almost done with our novel (reading chapters 32-36) this week. Our main focus is to be able to discuss the development of theme. Students also have some additional work with Literature Circles that they will need to prep for. Of interest might be the creative task for the circle that each student will need to prepare.
We are drafting chapters (essays) for our companion books. Each student has chosen a story and they must explore at least 3 "big ideas" related to the story. These can include themes, character analyses or any other exploration of information that will enhance the understanding of the story.
Thanks to all the families who attended our Demonstration Day at Johnson & Wales University! Students worked hard with chefs to cook up some excellent snack concepts and our facilitators enjoyed their time with our class. This week, we dive right into our International Towne project. This unit offers a unique opportunity for our students to explore sustainable relationships on a macro scale globally. For more information, click here.
