We are officially into the swing of things. We had a regular schedule today with a full compliment of class as well as other exciting things locker assignment and specials. In the weekly update, we will include a quick blurb about various features of the day. Enjoy and always feel free to ask questions.
General: Today we sent forms for Class Dojo, please use the code and connect with the student data around behavior and learning that we are collecting. We are also using planners, so please feel free to check them to make sure about any homework questions you may have.
Excursions: Our 100 mile club kick-off is scheduled for this thursday. A reverse permission slip will be sent home today. Again, this is a reverse slip, meaning that it only comes back if you do not want your student participating.
Reading and Writing: We will begin our Reading and Writing bootcamp. In reading, we will be reviewing high-level strategies as we read articles related to our sustainable economics work in EFS. In writing, we are tackling a "Hopes and Dreams" essay and later this week we will shift to reviewing our essay writing skills and strategies.
Math: This week in math we're going to focus on the math expectations for this year, understanding the daily schedule and structure, and best practices for productive group work. We will learn routines and group work by reviewing fractions and ratios from 6th grade to get our brains activated and ready for our first 7th grade unit on ratios and proportions!
Thanks,
The 7th grade team
