We have some quick updates this week:
Reading and Writing: We are exploring poetry and how to use 6 elements to analyze it. Each week, as we break down the poetry, we are also comparing against a short story with some common element to build our literary essay writing skills.
Math: Continuing last weeks work around solving 2 step equations using bar models.
Kent ILT: This week in ILT we are learning about Hammurabi's code and practicing making comparisons to modern legal systems. Students are investigating questions surrounding what makes a just law while practicing writing introductory paragraphs!
EfS: Students are working towards our Feb. 22 excursion to International Towne. This week students are learning about loans, interest, exchange rates, and how to politely engage in business around the world. Look forward to students applying for and interviewing for different jobs at International Towne in the next few weeks. We will need volunteers for this trip, please email [email protected] to let her know if you are able to help out.
