EfS: Students are learning about global economics as they prepare for selecting jobs and countries for the International Towne simulation in February.
Reading and Writing: Students are working this week to identify themes and analyze how they are developed. They will get lots of practice and then have to produce the work for their novels. This week, they are also wrapping up research-based arguments/essays that communicate why their point of view is so important. Students should about 5/6 of the way through their books and on the way to wrapping up. They have lots of work to get done with the reading though out the week. Feel free to check in with them and ask for evidence of their progress as they get ready for the Friday Literature Circle Meeting.
Math: Hi 7th grade families! All students have received grades for their unit 2 final assessment. Please ask your student for their grade if you're curious or you can e-mail me directly ([email protected]). This week we are using 6th grade algebra skills to springboard into our 3rd major unit in 7th grade math. We've nearly finished reviewing the 6th grade skills of combining like terms and using the distributive property. This week we're going to dive into solving one-step equations using inverse operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Below are some videos and IXL skills your students may find helpful. Have a great week!
