We are working hard to finish the year, walking a bunch and prepping for the camping trip the last week of school.
Excursions:
*Friday (5/20): Highline Canal most of the morning.
*Wed (5/25): Urban Hike to Cherry Creek Mall.
*Thurs (5/26): Field Day at Crestmoor Park (weather permitting)
Tues-Thurs (5/31-6/2): Camping Trip to Golden Gate Canyon State Park
*Try to help students remember to wear comfortable clothes, sneakers and bring a water bottle. Snacks are fine as well as we will be going for miles.
Reading and Writing: We are studying myths and through a series of sustainability folktales and myths, we are also studying systems. Students are completing 5 portfolio artifacts that reflect key tasks within the standards, analyzing a DGS system and writing sustainability stories of their own.
Math: In math this week we'll be finishing up our statistical data project. Your student had to come up with a statistical question that compared two populations using quantitative data. It's be great if you asked your student what their question and findings were. Later this week and for the rest of next week we'll be working on a final mini project which shows a lot of the major 7th grade skills in one open-ended design problem.
