Excursions: No excursions this week
Reading and Writing: We will continue reading about how to prevent bullying. This week, we will focus on some texts that help answer "what now?" We just finished Interims and are focusing on our bullying narratives. We should be wrapping up our unit some time next week. Please keep students reading 30 minutes each night. You can often ask to see what we have read in class to read with your student or choose something else for fun.
Math: This week we'll start off reviewing adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers and then move into multiplying and dividing positive and negative numbers. Practicing IXL skills C.3 and C.7 are a good way to make these skills seem like second nature. Next week we'll wrap up our first unit of rational numbers by doing some real world applications.
EfS: Systems thinking work. This week students will look at "change over time" graphs to collect data on a system and analyze trends. To properly understand systems, you need to understand patterns of data, not just isolated moments.
Sports: Soccer and Cross Country are up and running. Cross Country has another meet tomorrow and Soccer played their second game today.
Extra: Sheets ClassDojo were handed out. If you need another to connect with, please let us know. We will use it more and more as the year progresses.
Remember no school this Friday!
