This week we have a quiet week full of regular stuff.
Reading and Writing: We are reading about immigration and exploring America's complex relationship with the topic. We also reading our novels and connecting the two types of reading. We are continuing to work on a research-based essay that uses 3 sources to discuss the end of legal segregation.
EfS: Students are developing recipes and crafting their unique ideas. Please check in and ask questions (or provide ideas). Some groups are great and some need help :).
Math: This week in math we're moving forward with our statistics and data analysis unit. On Monday we will work on determining if a proposed sample plan represents a population or not, then on Tuesday and Wednesday we will move on to histograms and box and whisker plots (interpreting and using them to answer questions). IXL skills that are useful are CC.6 identify random and biased samples, BB.8 Interpret histograms, BB.16 Interpret box and whisker plots.
Science: Students should have completed a first draft of their Testable question, Procedure, Hypothesis, background research and materials list. Students have the next 2 weeks to perform their experiment. Please talk to your students and see if they need any additional materials and if they need to schedule time with their partner(s) to complete the experiment.
