Welcome to the weekly 7th grade update! These emails are designed to keep you up to date on what's happening inside and outside the classroom here in the seventh grade.
General News
- CMAS Testing is coming next week! The math tests will be held on the 17th and 18th while reading and writing tests will take place on the 23rd - 25th. Remember to give students lots of rest to do their best on the test! Also, we'd love donations of healthy snacks and bottled water. Please send donations of snacks and/or water with your child beginning next week. Thank you!
- Volunteer Opportunity - Interested in walking or running? Have some free time to volunteer? Our 100 Mile Club chapter is planning a 5K walk/run event and need your help. If you're interested in volunteering your time either during the event or in preparation, we can use you. Please contact Mr. Logan at [email protected]. Thanks!
Reading
Students will continue working with poetry this week. We have started sending home tracking sheets that help us communicate the work we are doing and the feedback on the assessment elements. If you have any questions about an assignment, feel free to email.
Writing
Students will work on organizing and writing the negative constructive of their Lincoln Douglas debate topics. They must also consider counter claims for the rebuttal and potential cross examination questions. The debates will culminate in an argumentative essay.
EfS
This week, committees will continue meeting and planning for the 1st Annual DGS 5k on Community Day in April.
Math
This week we're continuing to explore topics in data, probability, and geometry so we're ready for the test!
Homework
Assignments will vary depending on the amount of practice completed in class.
Have a great week!
