2 this week! We will send a double form tomorrow with the details.
Wed: Hammonds Chocolate Factory
Thurs: Denver Botanical Gardens ( We have two chaperones, but could always use a couple more)
Reading and Writing: This week we are taking a deeper dive into our nonfiction work with sustainable economics. Students have also been prepping the argument skills with murder mysteries and will transition to student selected research-based articles. They will choose from texts sets on a site called News Ela and write an essay exploring a question they devise.
Math: Hi 7th grade families. This week in math we'll continue working on ratios and proportions. We'll start the week calculating the constant of proportionality from a graph. We will end this week with our last major subtopic of ratios and proportions - writing equations to represent proportional relationships. There are some great IXL skills to practice these skills at home including K.3 and K.4. Next week we'll focus on applying our knowledge of ratios and proportions to answer more challenging and complex problems.
EfS: Students will start studying the life cycle of our material products as they strive to consider what their personal values are a consumer.
Sports: Football and volleyball are beginning this week. The soccer and cross country seasons have ended. Congratulations to all of the athletes that came out and competed.
Science: Our trip to the gardens this week is a Science trip. 7th grade students create a science fair project each year and Mr. Leventhal is working this year with the Zoo and the Denver Botanical Gardens to help promote engaging, creative project ideas. The Zoo came out last week and we will visit them soon.
Students in the CAP elective will have another camping trip this week. Information should have gone out regarding this trip. If you have questions, let us know and we will do our best to help out.
Round Up: This week, 7th grade grade will host the school wide assembly around the idea of creating positive culture to combat bullying in the building. We are creating 2 videos and will present our idea to the whole school on Friday.
